Zayn Malik got a new tattoo and bought a flashy apartment in the week following his split from Gigi Hadid.
The One Direction quitter and catwalk model shocked fans when they announced they had gone their separate way, and it seems Zayn, 25, is getting over his loss by going under the artist’s needle.
He took to Instagram to share a glimpse of the brand new inking – a black rose and stem – on the back of his head, but fans gave a mixed reaction to the new artwork.
One person wrote, “Looks like a rat tail”, as another agreed writing, “I thought this was a rat tail at first” whilst a third said, “Lmao I thought this was a stingray at first until I looked at the pic again & zoomed in. I’m deceased”
However, others loved the unusual design, and one adoring fan said: “So beautiful”
Following his reveal it was reported that he forked out over $ 10 million on a New York apartment. The PillowTalk singer had to move out of his girlfriend’s flat after two years, but he doesn’t plan on living far away. And according to The Sun, the hunk dug deep for a luxury home of his own.

The bachelor pad cost $ 10.69 million in the Manhattan suburb of Soho and boasts four bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as brick ceilings, exposed beams and steel-clad columns.
Though Zayn expressed interest in the property last month, the deal was sealed on March 13.
Meanwhile, Zayn and Gigi shared statements on social media when they announced their split.
He wrote on Twitter: “Gigi and I had an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship and I have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and a friend.
He went on: “She has such an incredible soul.
“I’m grateful to all of our fans for respecting this difficult decision and our privacy at this time, we wish this news could have come from us first. We love you all. xZ (sic)”
Gigi wrote in her own message: “Breakup statements often seem impersonal because there is really no way to put into words what two people experience together over a few years … not only in the relationship, but in life in general.
“I’m forever grateful for the love, time, and life lessons that Z and I shared.
“I want nothing but the best for him and will continue to support him as a friend that I have immense respect and love for. As for the future, whatever’s meant to be will always be. xG (sic)”
