Ant and Dec were snubbed twice at the Royal Television Society Programme Awards 2018 on Tuesday night.
The star duo scooped 40 National Television Awards in their career, but were left empty handed at the prestigious ceremony held at London’s Grosvenor House hotel after being nominated in the Entertainment Performance and Entertainment Programme of the year categories for their shows I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and Saturday Night Takeaway.
The presenting kings lost out to The Last Leg and Love Island, with The Last Leg’s Adam Hills, Alex Brooker and Josh Widdecombe takin home the prize for Entertainment Performance.
However, Coronation Street was the big winner on the night, taking home the Soap and Continuing Drama prize at the annual event. The show was praised for being “grounded, confident and utterly believable” drama.
Speaking backstage, the show’s producer Kate Oates said: “It’s lovely. Obviously, Royal Television Society are so well established, it’s a panel vote which is really nice.
“It’s industry professionals so it’s nice to feel that we’ve won it from a nice respective panel of experts. It’s a real honour.”

Elsewhere, real life drama Little Boy Blue – based on the tragic murder of Rhys Jones – saw Best Actor and Best Actress awards go to its lead stars Stephen Graham and Sinéad Keenan.
Planet Earth II won in the Science & Natural History group and,whilst BBC drama Three Girls won in the Mini-Series category.
Elsewhere, Netflix’s The Crown won the Special Recognition award for their “outstanding contribution to the reputation of British television around the world”.
However, the show apologised backstage during the winners press conference after it was revealed Claire Foy was paid less than her co-star Matt Smith in both series.
Meanwhile, the future of Ant and Dec is in jeopardy after his arrest for crashing into two vehicles on Sunday.
Dec has refused to go back to work on SNT without Ant, who has reentered rehab in a second attempt to fight his demons.
