The 2017 Zenith financial institution Basketball League has been scheduled to begin on April 10 in Abuja with the financial institution committing N35m to the sponsorship of the competitors.
The Deputy Managing Director of the bank, Ebenezer Onyeagwu, on Tuesday at the Zenith company headquarters in Lagos told newsmen that contributing to the development of the basketball recreation over time used to be a pride to the organization.
Onyeagwu stated: “We take sports activities significantly and that is why we’ve been with basketball for this long duration. it’s a pride that most of the players have developed to characterize Nigeria at international competitions and that is a success story for us. “There had been tales of players discovered throughout the league who are actually playing in a foreign country. This has given us pleasure that the initiative we began from humble beginning has grown to develop into an extraordinarily giant league.
“we will continue to support the initiative, we have already signed on for the following three years, and for as long as we see the continued professionalism there. We don’t see reason why we will cease the relationship since you don’t cease a profitable team. We believe our collaboration is a profitable one and our youths have now acquired commitment and we can best but make it bigger.”
The President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, Tijani Umar, then again thanked the sponsors for having faith in the federation.
