An assault on Tekno by Wizkid’s manager, Sunday Are, is a new subject of controversy in Nigeria’s music-phere which has led to the revival of an earlier beef between the artistes.
The altercation which occurred at the backstage of the Dubai held One Africa Music Fest concert on Thursday, November 16, 2017, sent a wave of reactions across social media. Reports have it that Are felt disrespected by an offer of a handshake presented by the ‘Pana’ songster causing him to throw him a hard punch.
A viral video showed a scene of unrest that saw Wizkid making an attempt to interfere in what was reported to be a clash between his camp and Davido’s who was sympathetic in respect to the pummeling.
He took to Twitter to express his support for Tekno who he assured of protection based on the following comment.
The incident occurred barely a week after Davido and Wiz scored awards at the 2017 MTV Europe Music Awards and the 2017 All Africa Music Awards, held at The SSE Arena in Wembley, London, United Kingdom and Lagos, Nigeria, respectively.
