The Prime Minister will gift Donald Trump with a World War 2 Charter and entertain him gourmet food. The two leaders are expected to clash over Brexit, Huawei and Iran during two-hour talks in Downing Street. Theresa May also plans to give the US President a tour of the Churchill War Rooms, The Sun reported.

The charm offensive plans come to light after Trump tweeted: “Big Trade Deal is possible once the UK gets rid of the shackles.

“Already starting to talk!”

TV chef Jason Atherton, who recently opened a Michelin-starred restaurant in New York will cook the President a lunch of crab and Lake District beef fillet.

Mrs May will then hand over a framed copy of the Atlantic Charter, agreed by Winston Churchill and President Roosevelt.

Trump reportedly admires Mr Churchill who annotated the charter.

Mrs May and Trump will hold talks with business leaders in St James’ Palace.

She is expected to say: “There are opportunities to seize, and there are challenges we need to work together to tackle.

“Today, let us look at how we do both.”

Philip May and Melania Trump will host a garden party in Downing Street during the meeting as a thank you to staff and embassy officials.

The Prime Minister, who quits as Conservative leader on Friday, is expected to discuss hopes for a free trade agreement between the UK and US after Brexit during the day.

Trade between the two countries totalled £190billion last year.

But diplomats have signalled accepting chlorinated chicken and access to NHS contracts could be the price to pay for securing a swift trade deal that gives better access to the huge market.
