Tommy Mallet has spoken out on his anxiety, which led to him having a breakdown earlier this summer.
Viewers of The Only Way Is Essex applauded the 26 year old when he spoke about his breakdown on the series premiere of the hit show.
Now, as he sat down with his girlfriend Georgia Kousoulou, 27, in an exclusive OK! Online interview, he has admitted that he has learned how to deal with his demons.
When Georgia asked if he feels better since opening up, he said: “Yes, one hundred per cent but I don’t know if it was actually just anxiety.
“Anxiety, depression, breakdown, whatever it was. Definitely, because I know how to deal with it.”
“But I’m on a diet at the minute and I’m getting hungry. This morning I got a bit aggy and I had to sit down and think about it and be like alright I need to chill it, I can’t let my head go back to where it was, so I’m just learning more than anything.”
Speaking about the “very good” reaction that he received following the show’s airing, he said: “I got loads of hearts and people telling me I’ve made them open up about their lives and about certain things so very good. A lot, it’s a lot to take in.”
Speaking about how his bravery has helped other people battle their demons, he added: “As I said, If I can help one person then it’s enough but I reckon have, yeah definitely.
“Someone stopped me the other day but I’m not gonna mention it because it’s their own thing, but someone stopped me and I left just like ‘Woah’, I’ve just helped someone so yeah, one hundred per cent.”
Georgia too admitted that she has had messages telling her how much her beau’s words have inspired them.
She told him: “I actually do really think you’ve helped people because I’ve even been getting messages about you and, like, all of my social media feeds are about it and I feel like people are really opening up which is really good. So I think well done to you.”
Georgia also admitted that she agrees that Tommy is dealing with his anxiety, adding: “To be fair, I do actually agree, you are much better.”
