The Holby City actor has impressed the judges, as well as the nation, with his moves on Strictly Come Dancing this year.
And it appears prancing around in an extravagant costume has always been a passion of Joe McFadden’s, as recently unearthed photos of the soap star show him as Peter Pan in a pantomime in 1996.
Clad in a red and orange outfit, embroidered with feathers and leaves, a youthful Joe can be seen leaping through an open window.
In another shot he poses proudly with a sword, while reclining in a blue toy box.
The snaps are from 1996, where Joe would have been just 21 years old.
Despite looking youthful and very slender, little else has changed in Joe’s appearance since his time in panto.

After reaching the Strictly final, which will take place this weekend, Joe overtook Debbie McGee as the frontrunner to win the series.
According to bookmakers OddsMonkey, the Holby City star could be a real contender for the title with odds of 9/4.
Peter Watton, spokesman at OddsMonkey says “This is a dramatic change in the market, Joe was as long as 20/1 just a couple of weeks ago.
“But now, he is as short as 9/4, a remarkable turnaround – although that is still on a 30% probability of winning, so not a certainty by any stretch.”
He continued: “With Joe becoming favourite, taking over from Debbie McGee we have seen some of the odds on the other contenders come out, and the 10/3 on offer for Alexandra Burke would of been unthinkable just weeks ago.”
Alexandra Burke was previously the frontrunner, with fellow The X Factor star Aston Merrygold the earliest favourite.
