Bollywood actress Sridevi Kapoor died of accidental drowning, according to a Dubai forensics report.
Dubai Police released the forensic report on the 54-year-old’s death to family and the Indian Consulate representative.
According to a report by Gulf News, Dubai Police said initial investigation shows that Sridevi drowned following loss of consciousness in the bathtub of her hotel room.
They also found traces of alcohol in her body, which they believe may have led to the accident.
“The investigation is still going on to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident as the forensic report only says that she drowned,” an official told Gulf News.
It had earlier been reported that Sridevi Kapoor died of cardiac arrest on Saturday while at a family wedding in Dubai.
Before her death, Sridevi featured in almost 300 films, including classics such as “Mr India,” “Chandni,” “ChaalBaaz” and “Sadma.”
