Sony Music HQ in London has been evacuated with armed police on stand by.

The building, which houses Simon Cowell’s record label Syco, was surrounded by police and paramedics on Friday afternoon after an incident at 11.15am

According to the Evening Standard two people are believed to have been stabbed after a knifeman entered the music headquarters on Derry Street.

The offices were evacuated amid reports of a stabbing  [London Live ]

An onlooker told the website: “Large crowds of people began exiting the building’s front door at around 11 o clock.

“Most were running, all toward Kensington Square Garden. Several were visibly panicked and some were screaming.”

The Metropolitan Police said: “Officers were called at approximately 11:00hrs on Friday, 2 November to reports of an incident in Derry St, W8.

“Officers, including firearms officers, and London Ambulance Service are in attendance. Evacuations are in place as precaution.

“At this time we believe two people have suffered injuries. Officer remain on scene and the incident remain ongoing.”

Simon Cowell is reported to have not been in the building at the time of the incident.
