Roxanne Pallett has been branded a “coward” after she sensationally quit Celebrity Big Brother this morning.
The former Emmerdale actress has created a media storm outside the house after she accused Ryan Thomas of intentionally hurting her in what has been called a play fight on Thursday night.
And following the eviction of ally Ben Jardine last night, Roxanne has decided to leave the CBB house, it was revealed in a statement this morning.
And while fans have been calling for her to be kicked out of the house after accusing her of “lying” about the Ryan Thomas altercation, many are infuriated she hasn’t had to suffer the consequences.
Following the shock announcement this morning, many Channel 5 viewers took to social media to slam the actress, calling her a “coward” and accusing her of “taking the easy way out.”
“She shouldn’t be allowed to leave like that she should have faced the wrath of the public. What a true coward she is,” wrote one angered viewer.
While another added: “My first reaction was good! Go! But then I thought … no, make her stay & leave in the normal manner, let her experience a wall of boos & negativity, maybe then she’ll realise that we all know what she did!”
A third agreed, writing: “That is a damn shame I wanted her to face the full wrath of the crowd and get a grilling from @EmmaWillis She got off lightly!”
The announcement came from a Celebrity Big Brother spokesperson this morning, with a statement that read: “Roxanne has decided to leave the BB House. The remaining housemates have been informed.”
“She should have been kicked off and not had the choice to quit!!!” came another angry tweet.
After Thursday night’s incident, which saw Ryan shadow box Roxanne during a conversation about washing, both fans and celebrity friends have hit out at the actress.
As Roxanne demanded to sleep in a separate room from the actor, Ryan’s girlfriend Lucy Mecklenburgh furiously hit back on social media claiming Roxanne should be removed from the Channel 5 show.
The former The Only Way Is Essex star did not hold back as her other half was called to the diary room and told off for “punching” Roxanne, asking fans to rally around him for support, even launching a petition to get her removed from the house.
Since, many others have had their say about the incident, with Corrie actor Daniel Brocklebank posting on Twitter: “Finally the general public are privy to what those of us that were unfortunate enough to work with her in the past already knew.”
While Sam Attwater claimed that she had lied about him hitting her too.
“I can not wait for @bbuk tonight. Im so glad that Roxanne’s true personality is coming out,” he wrote.
“She did this to me on Rocky Horror tour. Except she hit me and ran off stage saying I’d hit her! She’s not well and shouldn’t be in there. Anyone who has worked with her knows.#dangerous.”
Meanwhile, Women’s Aid have defended her actions, saying: “Domestic abuse means you don’t feel safe in your home environment, and as a woman who has previously spoken about being in a violent and abusive relationship, Roxanne clearly did not feel comfortable going to sleep in the same room as someone who had physically hurt her, even if that was not his intention.”
