Fans of Celebrity Big Brother were left shocked when Roxanne Pallett claimed she was “punched” by Ryan Thomas before calling him a “woman beater” and claiming he “punched her like a boxer would punch a bag.”
The actress then refused to sleep in the same room as Lucy Mecklenburgh’s boyfriend and requested Big Brother remove him from the house.
Her accusations resulted in Ryan receiving a formal warning from Big Brother, which left fans of the show – and celebrity pals – fuming.
And now Richard Fleeshman, who worked alongside Ryan during his time on Coronation Street, has broken his silence, following in the footsteps of a long line of celebrities and soap stars.
Taking to Twitter, he wrote: “Here’s the thing… you can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”
Richard – who dated Roxanne for six years from 2001 – had also liked several tweets from fellow co-stars who had blasted Roxanne’s actions, one of which pleaded to get Roxanne out of the house.
Meanwhile, Roxanne’s Emmerdale on-screen husband Kelvin Fletcher labelled the actress “evil” and “manipulative” as he sided with Ryan in several tweets.
He wrote: “She. Is. Evil. #cbb.”
”She’s not ‘mentally ill’ or in need of ‘help’. That denounces that people with actual mental health issues are as vindictive and menacing as her. They are not. There is a big difference. That was calculated and manipulative beyond belief. Ryan [love heart]”
In a later, now deleted post, he added: “But regardless of what she has done, she is still a human being and we all make mistakes. We don’t need anymore Hate in the world. We all deserve opportunity for remorse and forgiveness”.
Ryan’s girlfriend Lucy Mecklenburgh furiously hit back on Thursday after the incident and claimed Roxanne should be removed from the Channel 5 show.
The former The Only Way Is Essex star did not hold back as her other half was called to the diary room and told off for “punching” Roxanne, asking fans to rally around him for support, even launching a petition to get her removed from the house.
Corrie actor Daniel Brocklebank posted on Twitter: “Finally the general public are privy to what those of us that were unfortunate enough to work with her in the past already knew.”
While Sam Attwater claimed that she had lied about him hitting her too.
“I can not wait for @bbuk tonight. Im so glad that Roxanne’s true personality is coming out,” he wrote.
“She did this to me on Rocky Horror tour. Except she hit me and ran off stage saying I’d hit her! She’s not well and shouldn’t be in there. Anyone who has worked with her knows.#dangerous.”
