Rojenny boss calls for state of emergency in Anambra sports

The Managing Director of Rojenny sports activities complex, Oba, in Anambra State, Rommy Ezeonwuka, has advised Governor Willie Obiano to declare a state of emergency in the sports sector within the state.

Ezeonwuka made the decision when he received the management of sports activities Writers affiliation of Nigeria (SWAN), Anambra State Chapter at the Rojenny Stadium in Oba, Idemili South native government space on Tuesday.

He said that sports administrators in the state had failed the youths on account of their incapacity to conceptualise and put in force programmes that had been amenable to sports activities excellence.

He said the N10 billion Rojenny advanced used to be beneath utilised as a result of such activities as inter-home sports activities, school sports activities, state sports activities competition and different organised video games were no extra.

“Anambra has big potentials to give the arena one of the best in athletics, soccer, boxing and tennis but because college sports activities is lifeless, sports pageant is useless, these potentials have died in them,’’ he lamented.

Ezeonwuka entreated the youths to forgive the governor because he intended neatly, saying he has them at heart however that his lieutenants were vulnerable and had now not much to provide.

Ezeonwuka enjoined SWAN contributors in Anambra to work for the revival of sports activities through effective and function protection of events as they remained the hope of individuals.

He expressed his willingness to associate with the body, including that he was certain that sports had assumed a brand new life with the zeal of the new SWAN in Anambra.

The chairman of SWAN in Anambra, Anthony Oji, lauded Ezeonwuka for building the biggest sports activities advanced east of the River Niger back in 1986 within the passion of early life building.
