The Angels singer was on his The Heavy Entertainment Show Tour, heading towards Russia to play at both Moscow and St Petersburg – but had to pull out due to ill health.
Now, the former Take That star has taken to Twitter to tell his 2.64 million followers exactly why he had to pull out.
“I’ve been recovering from an illness now for the last 5 weeks,” he began. “Unfortunately that illness kicked in just at the end of my tour, a tour which was going so well.
“I was a soldier, and I needed to finish that tour, I needed to go to Moscow and St Petersburg. Then I got some test results, and they were very worrying, and I ended up in the Intensive Care Unit.”
He continued: “I haven’t pulled out of a tour for bad health since 1998, but I just can’t do it. I got all of your good thoughts, prayers and well wishes, and they all meant so much to me.”
Robbie then explained he’d decided to change his lifestyle in order to be the very best version of himself, adding: “Now I am vegan, I do pilates every day, I do yoga every day, and I have a really big burger on a Sunday. I have a cheat meal.
Look! Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow really are best buds again!
“I’m looking after myself, and I just wanted to say I love you, best wishes and thank you very much for your positivity.”
It comes weeks after Robbie opened up about his worries over his looks – and admitted he’d gone under the knife to achieve his youthful visage.
“I’ve had some fillers, and some Botox, and I’ve had something done to my chin which means I can’t even move my f***ing forehead,” he said in 2016.
“With the last few albums I put out I looked on social media and people were saying: ‘F*** he’s aged.’ And I was like: ‘Yeah, I have.'”
Robbie, who also admitted to dying his hair, added that he wasn’t against further surgery saying: “I don’t think I’ll take it to that Hollywood freaky level.”
