Robbie Williams has revealed how he’s quit social media after fearing backlash over his opinions on this year’s X Factor.
The former Take That star has joined the judging panel alongside wife Ayda Field, who he recently welcomed his third child with via a surrogate.
Speaking about his decision to step away from his accounts, Robbie, 44, said: “I’ve had to take myself off social media – reading Twitter and stuff.
“The love is massive but the hate can make you feel like the world is crashing in.
“If there’s more than half the country that hate me, that’s 50million people.
“That’s a lot of people and that can feed into your psyche and make you feel bad.”
He added: “You can intellectualise it and intellectually you can understand it but try telling your feelings! Of course it hurts.
“That being said, I am loving the gig and I think we’re doing a great job.”
It comes after Robbie opened up on becoming a father of three after the arrival of daughter Coco. Robbie and wife Ayda shocked fans by revealing they had welcomed another child into the world after a “difficult” journey into having a third baby.
Speaking to Mirror Online, Robbie said of his new bundle of joy: “Coco Josephine Williams, she’s the most chilled baby that we’ve ever had out of all three of them and it’s interesting, the progression being a parent, from the first child where, when they go to sleep, if you hear something two miles away you wanna send somebody two miles away to tell them to s**t up.
“Then on the third one, you know, the kids are fighting, the TV’s on and baby stays asleep and I think because we’re more chilled, she’s more chilled.”
