Rihanna pens heartfelt message to late cousin Tavon Alleyne who was shot dead in Barbados — after wiping away tears at his funeral

Rihanna wore a white dress to the funeral of Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne, which was held in Barbados on Tuesday. 

The 29 year old singer was seen wiping away tears away from beneath the white sunglasses which she wore, clearly overcome with emotion.

Other family members and friends of 21 year old Tavon who attended the celebration of life service were also seen mostly wearing white.

After Tavon was laid to rest, Rihanna posted two images on her Instagram Story, and shared a heartfelt message within one of them.

The first photo was of the colourful floral arrangement over his grave, in honour of her cousin, which the Fenty mogul added praying hands, a crying face and a broken heart to. 

The second image was a black and white photograph of Tavon, which said: “Laid to rest! Sleep well buddy… We are at peace knowing you’re in a better place than we are.

“We will always have a void without you, but we will never stop loving you.

“Hope you were happy with your going away celebration today. Forever @Merka_95.”

Rihanna’s cousin, Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne, was shot dead just hours after they celebrated Christmas together in Barbados.

Tavon was rushed to hospital but died from his devastating injuries.

Police have launched an investigation into the tragedy after the 21 year old was shot multiple times, with Rihanna urging for the violence to end in her tribute to her family member.
