In the 90s and early 2000s, some Nollywood directors seemingly couldn’t get enough of pairing certain actors together.

Movie-after-movie, these actors interpreted characters that eventually branded them pop culture icons, making them the most popular pairs in Nollywood.

Pulse Movies is taking a look at the five most famous Nollywood movie couples of the 90s and 2000s, or probably, ever.

Here we go;

1. Ramsey Nouah and Genevieve Nnaji

This duo surpasses all others on this list. They made tons of films together that their names became synonymous with romance films.

They also had a magical on-screen chemistry that even their platonic relationship in movies such as “Fugitive” had a repressed sexual tension.

They left their mark on the romance genre, making them one of the most loved pairs ever.

2.  RMD and Stella Damasus

RMD found his perfect on-screen match in Stella Damasus. The chemistry between the two was apparent from whatever first scene you ever saw them together in. They had you at hello – Yes or No?

They brought something special to each character they brought alive on screen, making them one of the legendary on-screen couples ever.

They are popular for “Engagement Night,” “Bridesmaid,” “To Rise Again,” “When God Says Yes,” “Behind Closed Doors,” “Queen,” “Intruder,” “Standing Alone” among others.

3. RMD and Genevieve Nnaji

In “Private Sin,” even as a troubled couple, these two gave us characters we could root for in Pastor Jacob and Sister Faith.

In the classic romance movie “Keeping Faith,” these two kept the sparks flying as Princewill Sampa and Nadine, respectively.

Their other movies together include “Love,” “Critical Decision” and “Darkest Night.”

4. Rita Dominic and Jim Iyke

Rita Dominic and Jim Iyke were an adorable pair back in those days.

This pair starred in few romance movies with the most memorable as the 1999 classic “Unforgettable.”

They further sparked a friendship that went beyond the screen.

According to Jim Iyke, they had a romantic relationship off screen, and he would pick her any day over Nadia Buari.

5. Emeka Ike and Genevieve Nnaji
