The UK’s departure from the EU is set to be high on the agenda as Mrs May goes head to head with Jeremy Corbyn in one of her last debates before she steps down. Mrs May will take centre stage during the showdown with Mr Corbyn before delivering a statement about her recent trips to the G20 Summit and European Council where the EU finally decided who should fill the bloc’s top jobs

Anti-Brexit German defence minister Ursula von der Leyen is to replace Jean-Claude Juncker as European Commission president while Belgian leader Charles Michel will take over from Donald Tusk as the Council’s boss.

EU leaders also sent a warning to Tory leadership candidates Boris Johnson or Jeremy Hunt, saying that a new leader will not herald a different approach to Brexit.

Plastic pollution, whistleblowing and dangerous drugs are also on the agenda for the debate due to begin at noon.

PMQs comes as Mrs May was attacked by Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon as desperate ahead of her visit to Scotland on Thursday.

The outgoing prime minister is expected to outline her plans to save the Union during her final visit to Scotland as Tory leader including a devolution review to strengthen British unity in Stirling.
