The little boy contracted bronchiolitis and was left struggling to breathe at just two weeks old, meaning he was rushed to hospital.
Speaking to OK! Magazine in an exclusive interview, Peter Andre’s wife Emily MacDonagh said: “He was hospitalised this time last year, shortly after being born.
“He got bronchiolitis at two weeks old, which is a winter illness in babies. It causes inflammation in the airways so oxygen levels can drop.
“I noticed he was having trouble breathing when he was feeding and at times there would be quite big pauses between his breaths.
Peter said: “It was a very scary time. Emily’s mum is a paediatrician so Theo was in great hands, but it was a horrible time.
Emily continued: “It was tough for me to speak about at the time but now he’s a chubby cherub and is right as rain, I feel fine to talk about it.”

Pete, 44, and wife Emily revealed that last year’s tough time means that the family are looking forward to this Christmas more than ever.
Emily said: “I’m really looking forward to it as last year Theo was so miserable and he wasn’t well at all.”
Pete also said: “None of the kids have ever had anything like that so it was worrying. After a tough time last Christmas with Theo big ill, this year will be amazing.
“Sometimes it felt like there was no light at the end of the tunnel but here we are, a year on, about to have a wonderful Christmas at home and Theo’s great now!”
Pete’s older children Junior Andre, 12, and ten year old Princess Andre from his marriage to Katie Price will be with Peter and Emily in their Surrey mansion this Christmas.
