Joanne Lumsden starred on the Channel 4 show when it was filming at Liverpool Women’s Hospital back in 2015.

And now the midwife, who regularly appeared on series 7 One Born Every Minute, has been accused of having a fling with the partner of a woman whose baby she delivered last year.

The patient, who doesn’t want to be named, has claimed that her partner cheated on her with Joanne, before she fell pregnant, while on holiday in Benidorm.

The mum states she’s “haunted” by the thought of Joanne holding her newborn baby, now that her partner’s cheating has been revealed.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, the mum recalled how her partner was “acting strangely” and avoiding pregnancy scans and appointments following his trip to Spain.

He then missed their daughter’s birth when the mum was admitted to the hospital for a c-section last summer, a move which she claims was to ensure his affair with Joanne wasn’t uncovered.

Joanne has been accused of “failing to declare a conflict of interest,” with the patient claiming she “took matter into her own hands and made sure she was present that day [at the birth].”

After delivering the patient’s baby, Joanne told the mum that she had met her partner in Benidorm and “rubbed suncream” onto his back but didn’t reveal that they had a fling.

It was only later when a community midwife came to the house that she was told the true extent of their relationship, with Joanne then calling her to confirm the fling.

“As a mum who was looking forward to the birth of her last baby, I was subjected to the most horrific ordeal any mother to be could ever imagine,” the mum revealed.

“This will haunt me for as long as I live. This woman held my baby in her arms knowing that she had engaged in recent sexual activity with her father.”

The Liverpool Echo reports that Joanne now faces ongoing disciplinary action and is no longer employed by the hospital, while the patient and her partner are no longer together.
