The Nigeria football Federation has expressed deep shock and grief following the demise of former NFF Head of women’s soccer, Mrs Lizzy Onyewenwa, who handed on Thursday, 15th June 2017.
“this can be a big shock to us all,” NFF normal Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi stated on Thursday afternoon. “The information hit us like a thunderbolt because most of us didn’t even comprehend she was sick.
“it is a very sad day. Mrs Onyewenwa was a pillar of strength within the administration of girls’s soccer in Nigeria from the early ranges. The position she played in the building of the sport will never be forgotten,” Sanusi stated.
Onyewenwa, a deputy director within the division of Planning, Monitoring and data (PMI) within the Federal Ministry of youth and sports activities, died within the early hours of Thursday at the national sanatorium, Abuja.
She headed the NFF girls’s soccer Unit in the early days of the game’s delivery and labored tirelessly to ensure an exceptional basis for the women national groups and the ladies’s League.
“Our prayer is for Almighty God to forgive her sins and grant her eternal leisure, and also provide these she has left in the back of and the administration and staff of the Federal Ministry of adolescence and team of workers the fortitude to undergo the enormous loss.” Sanusi introduced.
