Nadia Sawalha’s mum has revealed her early diagnosis of Parkinson’s in a YouTube video.
The Loose Women star was filming for her YouTube channel when her mum Roberta, who she lovingly nicknames Betty, broke the news to her.
Nadia, who lives next door to Betty and her dad Nadim, was filming a conversation with her parents over the garden fence when the chat turned to health.
Former EastEnders actress Nadia started the conversation by joking with viewers about her parents’ “double date to the GP.”
Betty then said to her daughter: “Well he said to me ‘I think it’s early stages but there’s nothing we do about it now anyway so…’”
A confused Nadia asked: “Early stages what?” to which her mother replied: “Parkinson’s.”

Her dad then joked: “Then he pulled my elbow and said ‘There’s nothing wrong with you,’” before both parents burst into laughter.
“Only my parents would laugh about a diagnosis of Parkinson’s. I mean bloody hell you’d think they were at a bar just ordering their second cocktail. “
Betty then told her daughter how their double appointment came about saying: “Well [Nadim] said he wanted to go because he thought he had Parkinson’s and I thought to myself ‘I don’t think he’s got Parkinson’s, I’ll look up symptoms.’ I found that I’ve got six and after one you’re supposed to go,” she chuckled.
“Oh, hilarious” Nadia sarcastically told the camera.
“I’d much rather [know] it’s early stages and take vitamins and whatever else it is you know,” Betty told her concerned daughter before Nadim added: “It’s the curse of old age, that’s all it is. You have to live with it and learn how to live with it.”
Cracking a final joke, Betty said: “So if my make up is sometimes halfway round to my face then you know why.”
Speaking after the chat with her mother, Nadia told the camera: “She went to the… well, you saw. Only my mum, the most pragmatic person on the planet, would deliver information like that.
