Mollie King has opened up about needing to spend more time with people she “loves” following a hectic few months in the limelight.
The Strictly Come Dancing star recently took a surprise break from social media and jetted to Sweden with her mum to spend time in a tree hotel, refraining from posting anything online while she recuperated.
And Mollie, 30, admitted she was in need of some long overdue respite from the pressures of daily life.
Speaking exclusively to OK! Online, she said: “It was so refreshing to have a couple of days off my phone … It’s important to switch off from it and my new year’s resolution was to not go on late in the evening.
“(Going away) gives us a chance to really focus on what matters, and I think spending time with the people you love rather than scrolling on various social media platforms is important.”
The former Saturdays singer admitted life can be overwhelming at times but she resets her mental health by staying close to her family.

“People are so stressed these days and everyone is trying their best to keep up, we have to just to take each day as it comes and spend time with the people you love.
“My mum and I had the best time in Sweden. The treehotel was one of the most amazing places I’ve visited – we were able to really relax.”
Elsewhere, it was previously hoped Mollie would return to her music career after Strictly, but the star – who is currently co-hosting a radio show with Matt Edmondson on BBC1 every Saturday – has ruled it out, for now.
“I absolutely love music, but at the moment I’m focused on work within TV/Radio which I’m really enjoying.
“I’ve got some upcoming projects in the pipeline across TV/radio – which is all really exciting.” she said.
