The 36-year-old actress’s parents have released a statement shared on Kensington Palace’s Twitter wishing their daughter and son-in-law to be a future filled with “happiness”, following official announcement that they are engaged.
Thomas Markle and Doria Ragland – who are divorced – said in the statement: “On the announcement of their daughter Meghan Markle’s engagement to His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales, Mr. Thomas Markle and Mis. Doria Ragland said:
‘We are incredibly happy for Meghan and Harry. Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person. To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents.

The couple formally confirmed their relationship in November 2016, with rumours swirling on Friday that they had revealed in a secret meeting with members of the Royal family that Prince Harry had proposed.
The news was finally shared on their Twitter accounts on Monday (27 Mov 2017) and the royal statement said: “

“His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince Harry to Ms. Meghan Markle.
“The wedding will take place in Spring 2018. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.
The Queen is “delighted” at the news that the duo will tie the knot in the Spring 2018.
The official statement revealed that Prince Harry had already informed his grandmother, the Queen, and other members of his family.
He had also sought, and received, approval from the Suits actress’ parents and, Prince William and his pregnant wife Kate Middleton were the first to offer their congratulations to the happy couple.
A statement shared by the Palace revealed the Duke and Duchess’ reaction, stating: “We are very excited for Harry and Meghan.
