The over-the-moon duo couldn’t keep the smiles off their faces as they announced the news the world has been waiting for, with the Suits actress flashing her huge engagement ring to the camera with pride.
But the story behind the ring is even more beautiful – as it contains sentimental stones belonging to Prince Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana.
Harry opened up about the rings and his mum in the BBC interview following the announcement – saying just how much he believes Meghan Markle and Princess Diana would have got on.
“The ring is obviously yellow gold because that’s (Meghan’s) favourite,” he said. “The main stone itself I sourced from Botswana, and the little diamonds either side are from my mother’s jewellery collection to make sure that she’s with us on this crazy journey together.”
Speaking about what Diana’s reaction might of been, he she would be: “over the moon, jumping up and down, so excited for me.”
He added: “She would have probably been best friends — best friends with Meghan.”

During their first interview since the news broke, the loved-up couple revealed the unusual way Prince Harry engaged.
He said: “It happened a few weeks ago earlier this month, here at our cottage, just a standard night for us.”
While a smitten Meghan added: “Just a cosy night…roasting chicken…it was just an amazing surprise, so sweet and natural, very romantic – he got on one knee!
“I could barely let you finish proposing, I was like: ‘Can I say yes now?!'”
To which Prince Harry said: “She didn’t even let me finish, she was like: ‘Can I say yes now?’
“Then there were hugs and I had the ring in my fingers…I was like: ‘Can I give you the ring?’ She was like: ‘Oh yes, the ring…’
“It was a really nice moment just between the two of us and I think I managed to catch her by surprise as well.”
