But it seems some aren’t too impressed with the brunette beauty’s TV past, as she has been pulled from turning on the Christmas lights in Welwyn Garden City.
Some parents lashed out at the decision to have Scott Thomas’ ex attend the ceremony – claiming she is a bad influence to children.
They even launched a petition for Kady – who recently launched her own cosmetics line – to be removed from the event, threatening to boycott the event if she was not replaced.
The petition read: “What kind of example are we setting our children by having the girl from Love Island switch on our Christmas lights?
“This is a family event and it would be much better to have a local hero instead. Give the money (that would otherwise fund her appearance fee), to a local charity.
“Set a better example to our kids. If you don’t, we won’t show up to the event.”

And organisers later revealed she had been pulled from the Christmas switch on.
“Thank you for your feedback, we have listened,” a spokesperson explained. “We had good intentions to create an inclusive event for all ages of the WGC community.
“We came across Kady through the Brain Tumour Research charity which Kady supports and has raised a significant amount of money for.
“Kady has almost a million followers on social media, including many reputable brands and charities but generally appeals to the teenage population.
“We did not foresee such a strong reaction from the community and will be cancelling Kady’s appearance at the Christmas Light Switch-on.”
However, some were left furious at the decision to take the honour away from Kady.
Taking to Twitter, TOWIE’s Vas Morgan told the parents in question to “get a life”.
“To the 550 parents of Welwyn Garden City that petitioned against @kadymcdermottx you truly need to get a life,” he told his 151k followers.
“If she’s that bad an example you honestly shouldn’t even know who she is. Neither should your children.”
The ITV2 star replied to her pal, thanking him for his support.
“They’re going on like I’m Hitler,” she tweeted. “I’m from Love Island not crime watch.”
