Love Island’s ITV2 villa is suffering major hygiene issues, according to a recently dumped islander.
Speaking to The Sun Online, an anonymous islander revealed that while the plush Mallorca pad might look lavish on TV screens, it is actually infested with vermin and insects after cast-mates failed to keep it clean and tidy.
They said: “There are ants all over the kitchen crawling all over food – trails of them are going towards the bread and fruit.
“The nastiest thing is rats. Some people don’t care, but others found it really horrible.
“If they bothered cleaning up after themselves it wouldn’t be going on. It’s filthy.”
While the villa was spotless when the islanders first entered, the eliminated islander claimed that several stars had been leaving their food out in the sun, and forgetting to do thier washing up.

The former star revealed that the show’s producers are so concerned about the issue that they have started thanking the housemates who do their bit to keep the villa clean.
However, an insider from ITV told OK! Online that any claims from the former islander are false.
“There is no infestation of rats or ants in the villa. This is untrue. The villa is cleaned on a regular basis,” they said.
This isn’t the first time this series’ islanders have been called out for their messy habits, after viewers at home even noticed the state of the villa while tuning in during the very first week of the show.
The ITV2 show aired footage of the gorgeous girls pampering themselves, but fans were more distracted by what a tip their surroundings were.
Fans noticed that the messy islanders were leaving counters covered with cosmetics, dirty wipes on the surface and clothes strewn everywhere. Garments could also be seen spilling out of the cupboards, and several outfits had clearly been discarded by their owners as they tried on ensembles for the evening ahead.
“Bloody hell they/the girls are so messy #loveisland,” one fan wrote as they watched the ladies get ready.
While another added: “Can someone tell the girls on #LoveIsland to tidy up the dressing room. Mingers”.
A third chipped in: “The state of the girls dressing room give me major anxiety. #LoveIsland”.
