Liam Payne hasn’t penned a song about his son Bear on his album and admitted he fears it would sound “cheesy” if he did.
The former One Direction megastar says he steered clear of writing about fatherhood on his debut LP because Bear wasn’t born when he embarked on the project, but he’s determined not to make his fans cringe with a mushy track.
Liam, 24, revealed his decision while on tour in Japan and said he didn’t want to dig deep into his emotions.
“He wasn’t born during the production of the album, so there’s not a song about Bear on it,” he told Front Row Japan.
“It’s difficult because Bear is the best thing I’ve ever experienced so it couldn’t be a boring song.
“It wouldn’t be something that was done easily.”

Meanwhile, Cheryl has enlisted the help of Beyoncé collaborator Naughty Boy for her first album since giving birth and he revealed she’s written a “very personal” and “meaningful” song about her first child for her own upcoming record.
“I can’t tell you the name of her track but it has been influenced by her son Bear,” the producer previously revealed.
However, Liam isn’t against making music in the name of his offspring and will have a go when Bear is older – and make it cool.
“It has got more edge than anything she has done before. I feel it is going to be very special and meaningful.”
“I want to do one in the future that’s cool like Will Smith did for Jayden Smith,” he said.
“But it can’t be a cheesy song.”
