Busty glamour model Carla, 27, first began dating Tyga, 28, last July following the end of his relationship with Kim Kardashian’s youngest sister Kylie Jenner.
OK! Online previously exclusively revealed that Carla – who has posed for Playboy – had been approached by the ITV2 show but turned it down due to being in a relationship with the Wait For A Minute hit-maker.
It appears she has had a change of heart however and dumped Tyga in a bid to find love and bolster her career on the hit reality TV show.
A source said: “Tyga treated her well and she really liked being with him but she couldn’t get serious with him because he was doing what he wants.
“She found him possessive and felt he had double standards. He had a wandering eye and would act like a single man.
“Carla was approached for Love Island and they weren’t too happy about her having a boyfriend. She’s recently met someone else but it’s very early days,” they added to The Sun.

The pretty Berkshire-born brunette has previously dated the likes of Calum Best, Jamie O’Hara, Ray J and Wiz Khalifa – with whom she confirmed in 2014 that she had made a sex tape.
She and her twin sister Melissa became Playboy Bunnies in 2011, splitting their time between the UK and the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles.
Tyga first attempted to woo Carla after reaching out to her on social media with a source close to her exclusively telling OK! Online: “Carla had people like Ronaldo DM her before, so when Tyga dropped her a message, she wasn’t too interested – as she thought he had quite the track record of being a ladies man.
“They first met up in July, and then would talk every day after that – he was very persistent, and they would meet up for romantic date nights almost weekly.”
One subject which was never discussed however was his Keeping Up With The Kardashians former flame Kylie, who is said to be ‘pregnant’ with latest beau Travis Scott’s baby.
The insider dished: ”He wouldn’t discuss a word about his ex to her, and hasn’t mentioned the ‘pregnancy’ at all.”
Love Island proved a ratings winner last year with around 2.5 million viewers tuning in each night to see the action play out between the sexy singletons on a mission to find love in a Spanish villa.
The Caroline Flack fronted show is due to return to screens this summer but an official air date has yet to be confirmed.
