Kim Jong-Hyun, singer of Korea’s popular boyband SHINee, died on Monday 18 December after tragically taking his own life.
And now, the young star’s three-day funeral has commenced, with a sea of heartbroken fans turning out in tears to celebrate the life of the musician.
Pink, white and yellow flowers were displayed around a portrait of the young singer, in a funeral hall in Seoul.
The four remaining band members have cancelled their work schedules following the news, and bowed their heads as they arrived at the funeral to pay their final respects.
Crying fans lined the streets as they paid tribute to the late star, following his shock death.
A Korean funeral usually last three days, with the first two spent preparing the body and public mourning, followed by burial or cremation on the third day.

A private funeral will then be held on Thursday, attended by his family and S.M. Entertainment officials.
Fans of the band were left devastated by the news, after his sister confirmed the news of her sibling’s shock death.
Kim Jong-hyun was found inside a rented apartment in Cheongdam-dong, in the south of the capital Seoul.
Police responded to a call from Kim Jong-hyun’s sister, after she became concerned he was going to attempt suicide.
Gangnam Police shared a statement about the singer’s death, reading: “On December 18, 2017 at 4:42PM Jonghyun’s older sister reported to Police that her brother was about to commit suicide. We went to his residence in Chungdam and discovered that he had attempted to commit suicide.”
The statement added: “Emergency responders were with us at the time so we rushed him to the Konkuk University Hospital in a state of cardiac arrest.”
He is thought to have died on the way to the hospital.
