The Duchess of Cambridge is currently in Stockholm on the first official day of the royal tour of Sweden and Norway with Prince William.
Kate Middleton – who is pregnant with her third child – has been pulling out all the stops with her outfit choices and bouncy blow dries, however, she has ditched a major trademark of hers and has taken notes from Meghan Markle instead.
Kate, 36, is never seen without her clutch bag, usually holding it with both hands during royal engagements, while Meghan has opted for designer handbags since being welcomed into the royal family.
During a luncheon in Stockholm, Kate opted to ditch her trademark clutch and instead stepped out with a classic black and gold handbag.
Kate’s bag is the Seaton Black Small Classic Grain from Mulberry and costs £1,250.
It’s very different to see Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s mum with a handbag during royal engagements, as she has always stuck with a clutch.

Founder of Beaumont Etiquett – Myka Meier – revealed Kate’s clutch bag is a technique used to avoid shaking hands.
She told Good Housekeeping: “When the Duchess is at an event, she holds her bag in front of her in both hands when shaking hands might be awkward.”
It could be that Kate has decided to take a leaf our of Prince Harry’s future wife’s book, who carried her bag on her shoulder and extends her hand to everyone.
However, Etiquette expert William Hanson doesn’t believe this should be the case.
He told the Mail Online: “The Duchess of Cambridge may well prefer not to shake hands with certain people – but there are other ways to achieve this, as used by The Queen and other members of the royal family.
He explained: “It is protocol that you do not extend your hand to any member of the royal family (blood royal or those who have married in to the family) unless their hand extends first.
Adding: “With more experience, The Duchess of Cambridge will soon realise that she needn’t be too nice, extend and shake hands with everyone. A courteous smile at those whom she does not have time to shake hands will suffice.”
