Jeremy McConnell has launched a battle to get joint custody of his son, Caben-Albi.
Stephanie Davis previously branded her ex boyfriend a “disgrace,” and slammed him for not contributing to his son’s upbringing – but now Jeremy is reportedly desperate to prove he is up to the job.
The former Celebrity Big Brother star begun legal proceedings last month, hoping to gain more rights to see his one year old, and claiming his life is now back on track.
A source told The Sun: “Jeremy has worked hard the last few months to get his life back on track.
“He always made it clear that he didn’t want to start this process until he was in a good place and now he feels like he’s in a stable position.
“It is an extremely complicated situation given his history with Stephanie but everyone’s hoping that in time he can start to be included in Caben’s life.”

The tattooed former Ex On The Beach star was the subject of an angry rant by ex Hollyoaks actress Steph, not long ago, who berated him for not “paying a penny” towards Caben’s upbringing.
After Jeremy wished his son Happy Birthday on social media in January, Stephanie lashed out: “You are no role model to your son so don’t act like you give a damn.
“As if you did you would have been there in his life – not partying and being a total disgrace.
“No Christmas or birthday present LET ALONE A CARD so drop the act.”
Jeremy was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison and 200 hours community service when he broke his parole after Stephanie accused him of throwing her around “like a rag doll”.
But after just 34 days in jail, the Irish model was adamant that he is a changed man, tearfully telling Jeremy Kyle on a celebrity special of The Jeremy Kyle Show that he is looking forward to rebuilding a relationship with his son.
He said: “The incident happened, I went to court, the restraining order was put in place – I can go through the correct channels to see my son.
“I want to just move forward now and see my son. I miss and love him – I love him to bits.”
Jeremy’s representative told OK! Online: “It must be appreciated that this is a complicated matter and given the age of the child involved and the future proceedings we are unable to comment”.
OK! Online have contacted Stephanie’s representative for comment.
