Leicester City manager Claude Puel has told Kelechi Iheanacho he needs to improve all aspects of his game if he is to force his way into the Foxes’  starting line-up, according to Leicester Mercury.

The Super Eagles  striker has made just six appearances this season after his £25m move from Manchester City and hasn’t even made the substitute’s bench on occasions.

Iheanacho came on as a substitute in Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Fleetwood Town but in the absence of the injured Jamie Vardy Puel turned to Islam Slimani to lead the line instead of Iheanacho.

“Slimani played well in the last game,”  Puel said.

“It was a possibility for him to have another game or so, because he hasn’t played a lot, because of the injury to Jamie.

“It was a chance to see him again.

“We don’t have a lot of opportunities for all the players, like Ahmed Musa. It is just a choice.

“I think Kelechi is a young player and he needs to improve aspects of his play.

“Also it is difficult because he is a player behind Jamie Vardy and it means he doesn’t get many opportunities.

“Shinji Okazaki is also playing well, so it is difficult for him (Iheanacho).

“He works hard on the pitch and in the training sessions and he needs to continue.

“I hope he can have some game time in the future.”

Meanwhile, The Sun claims Leicester are ready to offload Iheanacho just five months after his big money move to the King Power Stadium on a deal  reportedly fetching him  £115k a week. However, he has endured a shocking time in the East Midlands with one goal in six games, none of which have come in the Premier League. According to The Sun, Leicester are now ready to cut their losses and let the 21-year-old leave.
