Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has explained why he did not feature defender, Virgil van Dijk in Liverpool squad against Huddersfield.
Van Dijk was not named in Klopp’s starting XI as the Reds beat Huddersfield 3-0, with goals from Emre Can (26min), Firmino (45min) and Salah (78min).
Asked why Van Dijk was not named in his starting XI, Klopp told BT Sport: “Rotation. On his decision to bring James Milner back into the fold.
“Milner is only playing because we had to play one Yorkshireman here, I think one must play tonight!”
Van Dijk has made three appearances for Liverpool since arriving on Merseyside.
