Mimi Haleyi, a former production assistant at The Weinstein Company has now claimed that the producer pushed her down, pulled out her tampon and forcibly subjected her to oral sex.

As Harvey Weinstein‘s sexual accusers reaches over 50 reported women, a former employee of his has come forward with her own assault claims. Mimi Haleyi, a former production assistant for The Weinstein Company claims the former producer, 65, forced himself on her while she had her period in 2006. In a press conference [via TMZ] on Tuesday, Oct. 24, Haleyi, who was joined by her attorney, Gloria Allred, told a group of reporters that what Weinstein allegedly did to her, was an act she wouldn’t have welcomed by a romantic partner. Haleyi alleges that Weinstein invited her to his home in SoHo [New York City]. She claims Weinstein then took her into a bedroom and forced himself on her.

“It wasn’t long before he was all over me making sexual advances,” she explains. “I told him, ‘No, no, no,’ but he insisted.” In an effort to make him stop, Haleyi says she told him she was on her period and that there was “no way this is going to happen. Please stop.” She says he wouldn’t take no for an answer. “He backed me into a room which was not lit, but looked like a kid’s bedroom with kid’s drawings on the walls. He held me down on the bed; I tried to get away, or tried to get him off of me, and [I] kept asking him to stop, but it was impossible.” She went on to explain, “He then orally forced himself on me while I was on my period. He even pulled my tampon out. I was mortified, in disbelief and disgusted.”

Halyei claims once Weinstein finished, he asked, “Don’t you feel we are so much closer to each other now?” In tears, she says she replied, “No.”

Despite Haleyi’s graphic story, she says that wasn’t the only time Weinstein acted inappropriately toward her [via Variety]. She claims she met Weinstein in 2004, and then later saw him for a second time at the Cannes Film Festival. At the time, she says she was hoping to work in production for Weinstein. So, when she inquired about a job [while at the Festival], that’s when she claims he invited her to his hotel to discuss the matter. She says she was escorted to the room by an assistant of his. “Harvey asked if I’d give him a massage. I said, ‘No sorry, I’m not a masseuse,’ and I suggested he contact hotel reception,” Haleyi recalled. “At that time, I was crying because I felt humiliated.”

Although that particular encounter was “humiliating,” Haleyi was longing to work in the entertainment industry, so she agreed to meet with Weinstein again; this time in New York City. She alleges he suggested they meet in the Mercer Hotel lobby to chat. Days later, Haleyi says she saw him at The Weinstein Company offices in Tribeca, where he wanted to discuss her working for him. However, the conversation didn’t involve a job, according to Haylei, who says Weinstein offered to take her on an extravagant trip to Paris for a “couture show.” When she declined, Haylei says Weinstein “didn’t like that.”

She went on: “I said, ‘I’m not coming to Paris with you and I hear you have a terrible reputation with women.’ That’s when he backed off.” Haylei says Weinstein ended up taking his then-girlfriend and now estranged wife, Marchesa designer, Georgina Chapman.

When Weinstein returned from Paris, he reached out reached out to Haleyi and asked her to meet him at his SoHo home. Despite her past experiences, Haleyi says she agreed to meet him because she “wanted to maintain a good relationship with him,” strictly for professional reasons; that’s when she alleges he forced himself on her, as explained above.
