Marnie Simpson, who is dating her Single AF co-star Casey Johnson, announced the duo were moving in together after just five months of dating.
And ahead of his next BAMMA MMA fight in his hometown of Newcastle, tattooed star Aaron Chalmers has spoken out about the pair’s blossoming romance – and it seems there’s no bad blood between the former lovers.
“I spoke to Marnie last week,” he exclusively revealed to OK! Online. “Obviously it’s a big move for her. It makes sense for her to move, as all of her work is in London. She’s not even a fan of Newcastle.
“Like I’ve always said, me and Marnie are really good friends, so if she’s happy obviously I’m happy.”
In a message to her 1.05million followers, Marnie took to Twitter to confirm the news. She wrote: “This is week is probably going to be the best week of my life as me and @CaseyCodyJ finally get the keys to our first home together. Waited ages for it to finally be finished but it’s worth the wait #detached #DreamHouse #london #excited #HomeOwner.”
Aaron – who is currently in a new relationship himself with jaw-dropping beauty Talia Oatway – added: “We still remain friends – me and Marnie literally just get on like a house on fire. It was always me Marnie and Gaz, and when Gaz wasn’t there, it was just me and Marnie. That’s how it should be.
Speculation surrounding Aaron and Marnie is fuelled even more by Gaz as he captions his snap “third wheel game strong” [Instagram]
“She’s my ex, but I don’t really look at her like that – she’s a really good friend.”
Aaron is currently in training for his next MMA fight on December 15. Speaking about the fight, he told us: “It’s always a mixture of emotions. I’ve been training hard, and I can’t wait.”
After knocking out his last opponent in 30 seconds, Aaron added that the pressure was definitely on to ensure he made this fight one to remember.
“All my friends are like ‘You better knock him out again!'” he laughed. “You can’t plan for any fight, you can’t expect that to happen. I’ll be honest, it was a shock that the fight was over. I was happy, but now everyone’s just expecting me to do the same thing again.
“I’m not disappointed though, as you don’t get paid for overtime!”
