ANTHONY Joshua has revealed Tyson Fury could be his toughest fight in 2018, according to Express.co.uk.
Next year looks set to be a busy one for Joshua with three potential bouts being lined up against Joseph Parker, Deontay Wilder and Fury.
Joshua, who currently holds the IBF, WBA and WBO versions of the world heavyweight title, is looking to unify the belts.
His first fight in 2018 is being targeted for the end of March.
While the Watford-born fighter has grown in stature over the past few years, he doesn’t under-estimate any opponent.
Fury is waiting to regain his licence from the British Boxing Board of Control.
After testing positive for a banned steroid in 2015, Fury is trying to regain his fitness.
Fury has been vocal in calling out Joshua on social media.
And Joshua is well aware of the threat he poses.
When asked about the prospect of facing Fury, Joshua told the New Zealand Herald, “I just think he’s awkward in the mind and he’s awkward in his style.
“Unpredictable. You just don’t know. He doesn’t have one significant style.
“He may move around the ring and try and steal the win, he may just jab the whole fight.
“I’ve seen him fight guys like John McDermott years ago where he would just try and fight with you, Steve Cunningham where he tries to fight with him and he’s more vulnerable.
“So I don’t know what style Fury will possess but he’s good because he can mix it up, he’s a man of many trades.”
Meanwhile, two-time heavyweight champion of the world Shannon ‘The Cannon’ Briggs has told TMZ Sports that he is set to face Tyson Fury for his first fight back in two years.
Briggs said he will knock Fury out in the first round when they come to meet in April 2018.
Briggs claims he has been in talks with Fury for a while saying he will be the former heavyweight champion’s opponent for his return fight.
