Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte has disclosed why he will not feature the club new signing, Ross Barkley on Wednesday’s Emirates FA Cup third round replay game against Norwich City.
The former Everton midfielder joined the Blues on a multi-year contract on January 5.
Conte revealed that the England International is not eligible to play in tomorrow’s game due to the Barkely was not sign by midday.
”Not Eligible to play. Because he didn’t sign by midday on the day he signed, Barkley cannot play in the FA Cup tomorrow,” Conte said at Tuesday’s press conference.
Barkley may put on a Chelsea jersey for the first time in a competitive fixture on Saturday when they travel to Brighton & Hove for a Premier League clash.
