Ed Sheeran looks set to play himself in Danny Boyles new movie, which is inspired by The Beatles.
The former Bond 25 director is said to have recruited A Team singer Ed to star in his new film, which has been scripted by Love Actually and Notting Hill writer Richard Curtis.
While details of the film are still unknown, Ed is expected to be joined by EastEnders fan favourite Himesh Patel, who played Tamwar Masood on the show.
Himesh will be taking on the role of the lead character, who wakes up one day and is the only person in the world with any memory that The Beatles ever existed.
“I discover him and take him on tour,” Ed told Associated Press as he discussed his role in the production.
“Then he gets much, much bigger than me through doing stuff. Yeah, it’s very clever”.
This isn’t Ed’s first acting role, after he recently starred in Game Of Thrones.
However, the Small Bump singer revealed that this role was much more demanding.
“With the Game Of Thrones thing, that was literally me popping in for a day and making a cameo,” he said. “But this was like full days on set, like 12-hour days.”
Ed has already filmed his part in the films earlier this year, at the same time as his latest tour.
“It was a very intense two months,” he said. “I would have four days of gigging and then three days of shooting a film.”
However, Ed confessed that his role wasn’t particularly challenging.
“I was playing myself so I don’t think I was that bad. There wasn’t much to [mess] up,” he joked.
The new movie, which does not yet have a name, is due to be released in September 2019, and will also reportedly star Kate McKinnon, Joel Fry and Lily James.
