Former EastEnders actress, Patsy Palmer, has sent a sweet message to Dame Barbara Windsor after she decided to go public with her Alzheimer’s diagnosis.
It recently emerged that the legendary actress, best known for her role at Peggy Mitchell on the BBC soap, has been taking medication to manage Alzheimer’s disease for years – but tragically her memory loss symptoms have worsened.
And now Patsy – who played Bianca Jackson alongside Barbara on EastEnders – has shared an emotional message with her 63.3k Instagram followers discussing the news.
“I’m writing this In hope that my friend will read it,” Patsy wrote, alongside a picture of Barbara and her husband Scott.
“Babara you are an amazing woman, you are strong, kind, loving and super clever.
“You may not be feeling too well right now but you got this girl !!!!!

“You are a fighter and I know you will only be thinking about how you can help others whilst you are going through this.
“You are blessed with the best husband who has always been madly in love with you and still is.
“Stay strong Babs … you are loved. Scott, you are so wonderful. I love this picture.”
The actress turned DJ added: “You guys are fantastic. I’m praying you’ll feel better Babs and can beat this bloody horrible thing you are going through. Love you both”.
Patsy isn’t the only EastEnders legend who has spoken out about her pal’s diagnosis, after Alfie Moon actor Shane Richie took to social media after the news and asked fans to send her love.
He wrote: “So my gal The Duchess has got a ‘little touch of forgetfulness’ ’cause I promise you that’s what she’ll be calling it right now and why not?
“Now the thing with this ‘forgetfulness palaver’ is she might not seem herself on certain days and that’s OK, but if you see her out ‘n’ about, you just remind her how much YOU, WE, ALL of US absolutely love and adore her”.
