Diabetes type 2 – STOP eating these four foods or risk high blood sugar

Diabetes type 2 is caused by the pancreas not producing enough insulin, according to the NHS.

Without enough insulin, the body struggles to convert sugar in the blood into energy.

Diabetes patients are up to five times more likely to develop cardiovascular disease, and are also at risk of kidney failure and vision loss.

Symptoms of diabetes can include frequent urination and feeling very tired.

But, you could lower your risk of high blood sugar by avoiding certain foods.

“Certain foods negatively affect your blood sugar levels, cause inflammation and trigger immune responses,” said nutritionist Dr Josh Axe.

“To reverse diabetes naturally, the first step is to remove these foods from your diet.”

Cake and other refined sugars rapidly spike blood sugar. Refined sugar enters the bloodstream much quicker than other sugar, and can lead to extreme blood glucose.

Some grains should also be avoided, as they contain large amounts of carbohydrates. Carbs can be broken down into sugar within a few minutes after eating.

“Conventional cow’s milk and dairy products should be eliminated, especially for people with type 1 diabetes,” the nutritionist said.

“Dairy can be a fantastic food for balancing blood sugar if it comes from goats, sheep or A2 cows.”

Hydrogenated oils should also be avoided, including vegetable and soybean oil.

They’ve been linked to a number of health concerns, including diabetes, he said.

Almost four million people have diabetes in the UK.

You could lower your risk of the condition by making simply lifestyle changes, according to the NHS.

Eating a healthy, balanced diet could lower your changes of developing diabetes.

Regular exercise and drinking alcohol in moderation could also prevent the condition.
