Declan Donnelly was spotted looking stressed in the days after his best friend Ant McPartlin was arrested for drink driving.
The troubled star was charged with the offence on Wednesday whilst Declan entered crisis talks with ITV about the future of their stalled show Saturday Night Takeaway.
Dec, 42, finally took to Twitter to confirm the series will finish its run after much speculation, and following the message to fans, he went to visit Ant at his rented 1.6million home in Chiswick, south-west London.
The meeting was reportedly emotional, with the Geordie duo – who have worked together ever since meeting on the set of Byker Grove as kids – hugging it out and Dec offering Ant lots of reassurance.
A TV source told The Mirror: “Ant and Dec spoke on the phone but hadn’t seen each other since the car accident, so it was a very emotional meeting.
“Dec gave Ant lots of hugs and reassurances that things would be OK. They both have a lot of hard work ahead now.”

Ant has headed back into rehab and his loved ones are rallying around him, but his estranged wife Lisa Armstrong has been worrying about the I’m A Celebrity host from afar reportedly thinks she could have “helped to save” him before his drink drive crash.
Ant, 42, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and charged on Wednesday, after admitting last year that he was addicted to prescription drugs following a botched knee operation.
This week he entered rehab again, with his first stint taking place just before his latest run on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
When Ant returned from the jungle he announced he was divorcing his wife of 11 years. But she is now said to be greatly upset for her estranged husband, and has found it difficult to watch him spiral from afar.
A source said: “Lisa really thinks she could have helped to save him. She’s been upset watching on from afar and thinks she might be able to get him through the situation.” However, people close to Ant insist their struggling marriage was only making his problems worse.
An insider told The Sun: “The relationship wasn’t helping. Ending it was a positive step.”
