Danny Dyer spends most nights crying as he watches his daughter Dani Dyer on Love Island, it has been revealed.
The EastEnders actor’s wife Joanne Mas has made the revelation as he prepares to make his villa debut via video link on Sunday night’s episode.
Jo admitted that at one point, he missed his 21-year-old daughter so much that he demanded she flew to Majorca to bring Dani home.
Speaking to The Sun Online, Jo said: “I only started to watch it with Big Dan three episodes in. He kept having to go outside for a cigarette, as he was really nervous. But Danny likes the show now. He tears up so much.”
The 41-year-old says that his family have to laugh about the hardman’s blubbering and regularly ask him: “What you crying for, Mick?”
“We’ve had to make it light-hearted,” she continued. “Big Dan is really emotional. He’s found it so hard being away from Dani. He keeps saying to me, ‘Babe, I’m ready for her to come home now. I miss her.’”

Actor Danny struggled to watch footage of Dani getting upset over the arrival of boyfriend Jack Fincham’s ex-girlfriend Ellie Jones.
Jo added: “I was in Ibiza when the episode aired and Danny rang me up and said, ‘That’s it now, get her out.’
“I felt like I needed to fly home and give everyone a cuddle. I went into mum mode to try to get it sorted.
“I rang up the producer saying Dani really needs to come out, but he said, ‘She’s all right. Calm down.’
“Dani’s crying and she’s in pain but there’s a time in your life when you’re going to be sad, whether it’s a break-up or someone dies. It’s all part of growing.
“I’m not a hard b***h, but I have to be strong. I know it’s all part of the show and the viewers want drama. Dani knew what she was signing up for.”
