The Coronation Street got down on one knee and asked girlfriend Sophie Austin to marry him, announcing the news on Instagram on Boxing Day (26 Dec 2017).
Shayne revealed the couple’s happy news to his 195 thousand followers by sharing a close up photo of the Call The Midwife’s star’s hand that showed light beaming from her dazzling diamond ring.
The 32-year-old star captioned the stunning photo: “#MrsWardToBe”
Their fans rushed to offer their “congratulations” to the couple beneath the gorgeous photo, while others admired the stunning engagement ring, as one put: “ring goals”
The couple welcomed their first child – a baby girl – called Willow May into the world recently. Taking to Twitter in December,
He wrote: “Proud to share our incredible news.

“Me and Sophie had a beautiful baby girl. We are completely besotted and in love with the deepest of hearts. Our world. Willow May Ward.”
But Shayne – who has played Aidan Connor for three years on the Cobbles – made another big life decision this year when he decided to leave the ITV soap.
The 33 year old X Factor winner turned actor is set to leave Corrie soon, confirming the news on his Twitter page following widespread reports.
“Hey everyone. I just wanted to Thank you all so much for your Lovely kind Messages regarding the news of my departure from Coronation street next year. I truly love you all.”
However, it is not yet clear why Shayne is leaving the soap, but it’s clear he still has a passion for music and even sang with his Corrie co-star Catherine Tyldesley for song Get Here on her debut album Rise.
She told Inside Soap magazine: “It’s great working with Shayne as he’s given me loads of tips on how to look after my voice.
“I used to gig before Corrie – I sang jazz – and it was always my ambition to one day release an album. I promised my late grandad I would do it.”
And it’s been a busy year for ex Hollyoaks star Sophie, 33, too, as she’s joined the cast of Call The Midwife.
Revealing the news earlier this year, Shayne told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning: “Now actually Sophie’s just starting a new job, and she’s probably going to kill me for saying this, but I have to say it because I’m excited for you, but she’s just started Call the Midwife.”
