Former Girls Aloud singer Cheryl last week announced she was splitting from Liam Payne after over two years together.
Cheryl, 35, and 24-year-old Liam share baby Bear together, and vowed to stay amicable in their emotional statements – where they said their child was the most important thing in the world to them both.
Cheryl has since stayed very quiet on social media – but she, like the rest of the UK, couldn’t resist sending a positive message out amid World Cup fever.
But while many joined her in celebration, some couldn’t help but point out that she seemed to use one very familiar word when describing the cheers of England fans.
Cheryl had said: “the cheers I can hear outside coming from every direction is giving me chills !! # itscomimghome.”
And some fans used it as an excuse to point out that Cheryl had said “every direction” – and decided to make comparisons to her break up from One Direction star Liam.

“Are they coming from every direction ,or just one direction?” one fan wrote, while another said: “But not one direction any more hey hun.”
“I think you walked straight into that one Cheryl,” one told her, while another said: “Of all the words to use.. Sorry Cheryl you asked!”
Both Cheryl, 35, and Liam, 24, took to Twitter to announce the sad news to their fans last week.
The LÓreal ambassador said to her 6.43 million followers: “We are sad to announce that we are going our separate ways. It’s been a tough decision for us to make.
The former The X Factor judge added: “We still have so much love for each other as a family.
“Bear is our world and we ask that you respect his privacy as we navigate our way through this together.”
