Ant McPartlin has returned to rehab after being arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
The presenter crashed in to two other vehicles, one which contained a four year old girl, and failed a breathalyser at the scene.
But a source told The Sun that the reason Declan Donnelly’s presenting partner appears to have gone off the rails is the strain of his recent divorce catching up with him.
“It seems to be the realisation that everything he had with Lisa has slipped from his grasp and with the divorce coming up it seems so final for him,” they said. “It is hitting him hard again.”
“Its been a very tough time with the breakdown of his marriage.
“Things haven’t been easy whatsoever. He was tremendously sad he couldn’t rescue the situation and things have escalated.”
Ant and his wife Lisa Armstrong announced they had split in December 2017 after 11 years of marriage.
