Declan Donnelly is reportedly ‘devastated’ after his best friend and co-star Ant McPartlin made the decision to return to rehab.
The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! presenter was arrested on suspicion of drink driving over the weekend, and consequently pulled out of all TV commitments to get treatment.
And while Dec has not publicly spoken out since the incident, a source close to him told The Sun: “He’s just really upset about it all just on so many levels – gutted and worried about Ant, obviously, and devastated he’s going back to rehab.
“But he’s also worried about the future of Ant and Dec.”
The insider added that Dec was taking some time out to make decisions about the remaining episodes of Saturday Night Takeaway, after ITV pulled next week’s episode, and was forced to make changes to scheduling to allow for Ant’s rehabilitation.
They continued: “He’s very upset and needs time to make any decisions, which is why this weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Takeaway was cancelled.”

Dec’s response comes as the Geordie duo released an official statement on Monday, shared via their representative on Twitter.
It read: “Ant has decided to go back into treatment and step down from his current TV commitments.
“He has spoken with Dec and ITV today and asked for time off for the foreseeable future.
“As such ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ will not be going ahead this Saturday.”
While an ITV spokesperson added: “ITV has taken a joint decision with Ant and Dec’s team not to broadcast Saturday NightTakeaway this weekend.
“We will be reviewing options for the last two episodes of the series (March 31 and April 7) which would not feature Ant who is taking time off to seek treatment.
“We very much hope that he gets the help that he needs.”
