Ant McPartlin has filed for divorce from his wife of 11 years, Lisa Armstrong, after months of speculation about the breakdown of their marriage.
The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star shared a statement with The Sun on Sunday in which he asked for privacy at this “difficult time”.
A spokesperson said in a statement to the publication: “In response to the recent speculation in the media, Ant is very sad to announce that, after 11 years, he is ending his marriage to Lisa McPartlin.
“Ant asks for privacy at this difficult time, for both himself, Lisa and their immediate families. No further statement will be made.”
A source close to the newspaper added: “This was a tough decision for Ant but he has to do the right thing for his health.
“The marriage has effectively been struggling for eight months. He’s given it a good go.”

They added: “Ant’s big concern in the whole thing is Lisa and making it as easy as possible for her.”
Earlier this month it was reported that the much loved presenter met with his wife at their marital home to hold “crisis talks”.
Ant and Lisa had an emotional chat about the future of their relationship, but the make-up artist, 41, “struggled” to accept their marriage was over.
“It was obviously very emotional for both of them,” a source said.
“Lisa has struggled to accept that this is the end of the road. She thought at first that talking things through might help them resolve things.
“But she is gradually realising that as far as he is concerned, there’s no way back.”
Ant, 42, and Lisa faced a difficult year last year, after the ITV star returned from rehab where he battled his addiction to prescription painkillers.
The make-up artist even branded 2017 “rubbish”, in a tweet written on New Year’s Eve.
Sharing a bitmoji on the social media site, the graphic showed a brunette cartoon woman holding her nose as she holds a black bin bag in her other hand.
The bag has “2017” written on it in large green letters.
And after Ant left rehab, he moved into a rented flat around the corner from his marital home.
Declan Donnelly’s best pal is frequently pictured walking with his beloved pet dog to and from the home he once shared with Lisa.
