Ant McPartlin was arrested on suspicion of drink driving over the weekend after being involved in a car crash with three vehicles.
Faheem Vanoo was heading to work with his wife Shilpa, their four-year-old daughter Amaira and two colleagues when the incident occurred.
And now speaking to The Sun, Faheem, 41, has claimed: “His Mini came around a sharp corner on the wrong side of the road.
“I hardly had time to react and turned in towards the kerb to avoid a head-on collision.
“I’m convinced that split-second turn of the wheel saved us all.
“An instant before impact, Shilpa shouted ‘What the hell is this guy doing?’ then there was enormous bang which jolted us around the car.

“Fortunately I was only doing 20mph, we were all wearing seatbelts and my little girl was strapped into a child seat. But it was still a big impact.
“I don’t care whether he’s a millionaire and I don’t care whether he’s a famous TV star — he could have put my daughter in a wheelchair.”
The family say that they emerged from the wreckage of their car to see Ant surrounded by airbags at the wheel of his black John Cooper special edition Mini.
Alongside the presenter in the car was his mother Christine Woodhall and his two dogs.
Geordie presenter Ant today announced that he is returning to rehab, one day after his arrest.
A statement from Ant & Dec’s representative read: “Ant has decided to go back into treatment and step down from his current TV commitments.
“He has spoken with Dec and ITV today and asked for time off for the foreseeable future. As such ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ will not be going ahead this Saturday.”
A Scotland Yard spokesman said after the crash: “Police in Richmond were called to Lower Richmond Road, SW14 at 15:59hrs on Sunday, 18 March following reports of a road traffic collision involving three vehicles. Officers, London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade attended. A number of individuals were treated at the scene for minor injuries only. A child passenger from one of the cars has been taken to hospital for a check up as a precaution.”
