The coach of the Fennecs of Algeria, Rabah Madjer has hailed the goal scored by Nigeria in the 1-1 draw on Friday.

Nigeria hit the goal through a left footed effort from John Ogu, outside the eighteen yard area.

It was the last game of the 2018 World Cup qualifier for both countries with the Super Eagles already confirmed their place at the tournament.

Ogu curled home a sweet effort from 25 yards out to give Nigeria the lead, and according to Madjer who was a forward in his playing days, the quality of the strike would beat most goalkeepers.

Madjer spoke in the post match conference, when he was asked if he thought his goalkeeper Faouzi Chaouchi could have done better.

He said, “I don’t think most goalkeepers in the world will stop that. It can beat most goalkeepers; I was impressed with some aspect of our game but we still have a lot to do before our next game in March.”
