Alex Bowen and Olivia Buckland have become the first Love Island contestants to get married.
Alex, 26, and Olivia, 24, met on the second series of the Caroline Flack fronted show in 2016.
After an engagement that lasted just under two years, the pair have tied the knot in a lavish Essex ceremony, in front of a star-studded crowd including fellow Love Island alumni Gabby Allen and The Only Way Is Essex’s Pete Wicks.
Speaking about their dream big day, Olivia told OK! magazine: “The wedding was overwhelmingly perfect. It feels like it didn’t happen because it was so perfect.
“I had a vision and it all fitted into place like a puzzle. I was totally speechless the day after.”
Her new husband added: “I can’t describe it with words. It felt like we were in a movie. It was surreal.”
An emotional day for the pair, the lovebirds both said they “burst into tears” when they first saw each other at the altar.
“When we saw each other we just burst into tears. I was really trying to hold it together and compose myself, because I didn’t want to fully lose it,” Olivia explained.
Alex agreed: “I cried when I looked at her. I was actually crying before she got out of the car!”
After announcing she would like to have a baby next year, Olivia has now decided she would like to wait to start a family, putting the couple’s careers first.
“We’ve got such busy careers,” Olivia explained. “Next year is going to be even bigger than this year. There are loads of things in the pipeline that I can’t reveal yet.
“I know you can’t quite beat the wedding, but career-wise we’ve got so much going on. Kids are going to have to wait, I’m afraid.”
